Lead Pastor | Dan Moyer
Pastor Dan is the newest member of the HLAC team. He, his wife Gretchen, and their children Lydia and Simon, moved to Toledo in August of 2019. They previously served in pastoral ministry in Pittsburgh, PA for 15 years. Pastor Dan’s passion is to equip people to follow Jesus. He enjoys reading and writing (he’s a self-proclaimed geek), good coffee and long distance running.
Worship Leader | Ben Masters
Ben is our longest-running team member and has been leading us in worship since 2013. Ben has played in various rock and pop bands in the Toledo area and formerly served at First Alliance Church, where he played lead guitar. We like hearing his stories about growing up overseas in Thailand and Cambodia as an “MK” (that’s church lingo for Missionary Kid). If Ben is not rocking out on his electric guitar, he’s helping customers at Heights Guitars find the musical gear they need. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family.
Director of McGregor Partnership | Lori Hayes
Lori loves working with children and is passionate about seeing them get to know the Lord. She joined the HLAC team in February of 2017 as the Children’s Ministry Director. Starting in the summer of 2023, she transitioned roles to the Director of the McGregor Partnership. She serves as the liaison between HLAC and McGregor Elementary. Prior to that, she served 20 years in children’s ministry and education at Christ Church at Grove Farm and Beverly Heights Christian Preschool- both in Pittsburgh. She completed the Children’s Disciple-Making Leadership Certificate through CMAlliance University. Lori has been married to her husband, John, for 35 years. They have four adult children: Andrew, his wife, Kelsey, Amanda, and her husband, Jim. Lori was overjoyed to welcome her first grandson into the family in October 2021! In her spare time, Lori enjoys spending time with family, being in nature, camping, and hiking.
Creative Director + Youth Director + Administrative Assistant | Kathleen Blake
Kathleen joined the staff in April of 2018 as the director of Student Ministries. She currently serves as the Creative Director, Youth Director, and Administrative Assistant. Kathleen holds a bachelor’s degree from Crown College in Christian Ministry and Biblical Studies. She graduated from Crown College in December 2020 with a masters in Ministry Leadership. When she’s not at church, Kathleen teaches piano at Kathleen Blake Piano Studio, enjoys meeting friends for chai lattes, spending time in the kitchen, and binging Netflix.
