Peace: Day 2
What a wonderful promise we have here! We can have peace. The key is our focus. We will be kept in perfect peace if our mind is steadfast (stayed upon). How do we do this? Is there anything in this world that we can focus on that will stay the same? After all, isn’t something always changing? To keep a mindset that is steady and to stay in perfect peace, we must trust in God. There is no other way to stay at peace in a world that is full of change.
Following the promise of peace, we have a reality about God. It is this reality that highlights the truth of the promise. God is the Rock eternal. He does not change. He is the same forever and ever. If we put our trust in Him, we will never be disappointed or troubled. Perfect peace belongs to those who focus on God.
Prayer focus: Pray that God would allow your focus to stay on Him no matter what happens in this day. Pray that even if you are troubled, He will refocus your mind. Give Him thanks for never changing in this world full of change.
