Alone in the Garden (Guest Blog)
This week’s blog is a poem written in reflection on Sunday’s message by JR Frey. Enjoy!
Alone in the garden the Lord,
Went in the darkness to pray.
Knowing what God asked of Him,
Asking disciples to wait.
Three times He caught them sleeping,
He marveled at them, and they?
Ashamed, could only stare,
For they had nothing to say.
Then He came to them one last time,
He'd finally made His peace.
Resolved He rose and went,
God's will to go and keep.
If not for His grace to them,
The disciples who fell asleep,
How could anyone stand,
Or the will of our Master keep?
So here I stand this day,
So very much like them,
He asks us, watch and pray,
Can I do any better than they?
