All of Jesus, For All of the World
Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20, CSB
One of my great joys is to engage with International Workers in the Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA). It is especially refreshing for me to be a participant rather than a leader of the teaching times which fill “missions emphasis weekend.” I love hearing the stories of lives changed as people are obedient to the call of Jesus. I love hearing about the advance of the Kingdom of God. This weekend was no exception. It was so wonderful to hear Lora Brake share with us about what God is up to in Indonesia. It was also good to be reminded that sometimes my bringing people or problems to Jesus is simply for Him to ‘make them go away’. Most impacting though was the reiteration of the theme, “All of Jesus For All of the World.” This theme carries serious implications for daily life. Jesus brought all of Himself on mission for us. He gives all of His followers the fullness of the Holy Spirit. His purpose? That we might be disciplemakers of all nations. All the world needs to be reached with the Gospel. Behind us is ‘all’ of Jesus’ authority, before us a world in need. As we saw with our own eyes, God has graciously given us a worldwide impact. 16 different flags were carried into our worship space as we began our time together, places to which God has connected us. And in reality, this is just a sampling of the impact of the C&MA around the world. Might it please Jesus to use us to reach the neighborhoods and the nations by our faithful followership. All of Jesus, for all of the World!
