Monday, September 21: Pray for each other

Ask God to bring to mind 5 individuals/families from HLAC and pray for each of them by name. If there are difficulties or needs you know of pray for those specifically. If you are unaware of specific needs, pray for God’s blessing on them and their growth in following Jesus.

Bonus Idea: Pray through the church directory.

Tuesday, September 22: Pray for the church and her ministries

Ask God to...

  • Fill our Sunday worship gatherings with the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

  • Use each Sunday as a time of forming us more into the image of Christ.

Pray for ...

  • Wisdom and grace for the Elders as they seek to shepherd the church family and protect it from threats.

  • Wisdom for the Deacons as they seek to show compassionate care for those in need, in our church family and community.

  • The Leadership Team as they give direction to the present ministry of the church and seek God’s preferred future.

  • The staff (Pastor Dan, Ben Masters, Lori Hayes, Kathleen Blake) to have the energy of Jesus as they serve in various ministry capacities.

Wednesday, September 23: Pray for those serving in our local government

Pray for...

  • The Toledo City Council Members (Matt Cherry, Theresa Gadus, Sam Melden, Chris Delaney, Cecelia Adams, Nick Komives, Rob Ludeman, Katie Moline) to have wisdom to pass laws and direct spending, so that, Toledo and her citizens will benefit.

  • Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz to have wisdom in using his authority as executive and to have God’s help in: enforcing laws, signing laws and giving direction to city officials under his control.

  • Toledo Chief of Police, George Kral and his officers to have wisdom in law enforcement and community interaction that justice and mercy can be shown to the residents of Toledo.

  • Safety for officers. Pray for a drop in crime, especially violent crime.

Thursday, September 24: Pray for open doors, fearless declaration and growing honor of the Gospel

Ask God...

  • To see the neighbors around HLAC to find salvation in Jesus.

  • To multiply the impact of our school partnership efforts that lost students and staff at McGregor and Monac Elementary will come to know Jesus as Savior.

  • To open doors for HLAC, First Alliance, Sylvania Community Alliance, Toledo Chinese Alliance Church, That Neighborhood Church, CrossPoint Community Church and Westgate Chapel, that each church would have greater effectiveness in reaching the lost.

Friday, September 25: Pray for the spread of the Gospel globally

  • Katie Lucius for effectiveness in reaching students with the Gospel and discipling those who are found. For favor in getting her visa processed quickly.

  • Don and Rachel Kramer for effectiveness in engaging churches where they are sharing the ministry they have in Taiwan. For their field teammates to see much fruit in Gospel ministry.

  • Ben and Sarah Carey as they continue to minister in Germany. Pray for the restart of English ministries as well as ongoing youth ministries. Pray for Travis (oldest son) as he settles into life as a student at Black Forest Academy.

  • For the Great Commission Fund to be fully funded so that the International Workers of the C&MA can be well resourced financially.

Saturday, September 26: Pray for the Nation

  • Humbling ourselves in repentance and asking God to forgive our sins and heal our land

  • Our military, police and other law enforcement, and their families—and security and peace for the nation

  • Salvation of the lost, renewed strength in our families, solutions to the coronavirus pandemic, and an end to abortion

  • The President and the Vice President and their families

  • Compassion and kindness toward one another, respect and reconciliation between races, and healing in communities torn by violence and injustice

  • Religious freedom; and for churches to have boldness, to stand firm with the Word of God, and to preach Jesus Christ in a troubled world

  • Our Congress and other leaders at the national, state, and local levels; the Supreme Court, and judges across the nation
