Marveling at Majesty
He (King Ahasuerus) displayed the glorious wealth of his kingdom and the magnificent splendor of his greatness for a total of 180 days. – Esther 1:4, CSB
Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord
in the splendor of his holiness. -Psalm 29:1-2, CSB
King Ahasuerus (aka- King Headache) wanted people to be impressed by his magnificence and splendor. He wanted to be marveled at by his subjects. Of course as we looked at in the message, his magnificence and splendor don’t hold a candle to God. Psalm 29 is just one example of the GREATNESS of God on display so that we might marvel at Him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. But, often it is easier to state the theological truth than to enter into a place of authentic worship. Easier to read Psalm 29 than do what it says. So, my application challenge this week is to take time to marvel at God’s majesty. Go outside if you can and take time to feel the sun’s warmth, hear the birds sing, listen to the leaves dance in the breeze. Read Psalm 29. Then, worship God for His creation. Marvel in His majesty. Be amazed that the Creator cares for you. Exalt the King of kings. Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name!
