Ash WEDnesday?

“My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.” –Job 42:5-6, NIV

“In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread

Till you return to the ground,

For out of it you were taken;

For dust you are,

And to dust you shall return.” – Genesis 3:19, NKJV

Tomorrow (weather dependent) we will observe Ash Wedensday together. I know for many this will be a new kind of service and observance. In a shameless plug for it, I wanted to invite you into the unfamiliar. Before we begin our time together, we will have an explanation focused on, “Why Ash Wednesday?” and “Why Lent?” All age groups will be gathered so the service itself will be short. Our time will begin with a meal at 6 and should wrap up by 7:30. I hope you can join us! If you are unfamiliar with fasting during Lent, this article might be a great help.
