Hope: Day 7
The passage above is a quote from the book of Isaiah and is linked to Paul’s prayer which shows the primary reason that we have hope. “Our hope is in the Lord…” the hymn writer said. You see, while there are future events that give us hope, the return of Jesus being just one of them, our hope is wrapped up in a Person-Jesus. “The God of hope…” is the title Paul gives to God in this passage. Truly, our God is a God of hope. The wonderful news is that our Hope is living and active and present tense. We do not have a “Gee, I really hope so” kind of hope. No-our Hope is Jesus Himself. It is in Him alone that we have hope. But the hope He brings is for now and forever from the moment we meet Him. How is this possible? The Holy Spirit’s power makes us able to live a Christ-like life in this moment and forever. Praise God for a living and powerful Hope-Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord!
Prayer focus: Ask God to let you experience the reality of the Holy Spirit’s power which allows you to live a Christ-like life. Praise God for the gift of Hope-His Son, Jesus Christ.
